The national association’s publication relaunched this week with a cleaner, more user-friendly format
After the result of two year’s work, The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America Association, founded in 1896, and representing a network of more than a quarter of a million agents, brokers relaunched its member publications and website with a new more modern look. The flagship publication for the Big “I” since 1903, Independent Agent Magazine has finally jumped into the new millennium with a crisper, more streamlined look. The cleaner structure will allow for more editorial content to be published in a shorter and more user-friendly format and more importantly on a more frequent basis.

Acknowledging the need for its readers to access IA on their iPads
Adding to its new more accessible image, the magazine has also debuted a new a new iPad app which will allow its readers to access IA’s content from wherever they are. For those agents interested in downloading the app, it is now available at the App Store under the name “Independent Agent magazine.” Agency Checklists, however, wanted to make it even easier for those Mass. agents or insurance professionals who would like to download the app by linking to it here (Find the IA App here.)
The app is open and free to download, with new issues published on a monthly basis. Please note while the IA app is currently only available for the iPad, a similar app for Android will be released later this year.
IA also adds electronic newsletters to the mix
In addition to the redesigned site and new iPad app, IA Magazine will also be publishing three electronic newsletters each week. The new e-newsletters will replace the former “Insurance News & Views” that the publication published. The following is a description of each of the newsletters that agents and brokers can sign-up for:
- Markets Pulse will highlight market trends and sales strategies and will be sent via email weekly on Mondays.
- News & Views, will be a roundup of the week’s online articles covering industry news and analysis, technology, coverage issues, government affairs and political updates from Capitol Hill, and agency management topics, will replace the former “Insurance News & Views” and ship out weekly on Thursdays.
- Fast Focus will feature the top stories on a specific topic from the past month, based on an editorial calendar, and will be sent via email monthly on the last Friday of the month, beginning Feb. 28.
