The Appleby & Wyman Agency was established in Concord in 1903
Beverly’s Appleby & Wyman has announced a major change to its leadership team for the coming year. Effective January 1, 2015, Lisa Marciano, CPCU, CIC will become the new President and CEO of the independent agency. Carmen Marciano, the agency’s President and CEO since 1986, will continue on at the agency in the role of chairman. In addition to the leadership change at the top, the agency also announced that Christine Sciola will serve as executive vice president and CFO, while Mary Ann Dignan has been promoted to the senior vice president of operations position.
In announcing the changes, Mr. Marciano said:
“A great coach once said: ‘The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team,’ said Marciano. “That’s our philosophy at Appleby & Wyman. We have a strong team of talented individuals that support one another. We look to 2015 as another banner year for our agency and our customers.”
During his tenure as president and CEO, Mr. Marciano has guided the agency through a multitude of changes including various agency acquisitions, the opening of the agency’s second office location in Beverly in 1995 and the selling of the agency’s personal lines business in its original location of Concord in 1997. In 2000, Mr. Marciano purchased the remaining shares from his former partner for 100 percent ownership of the agency.
In his new role as Chairman, Mr. Marciano will not be involved in the daily agency activities, but will act as both an advisor and mentor in his new role. Ms. Marciano, Ms. Sciola and Ms. Dignan will handle to agency’s operations as well as its day-to-day sales.
