The Commissioner approved Ms. Browne’s appointment earlier this month
Wendy Browne, CPCU, has been named the new Vice President of Business Operations for the Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers, also known throughout the Massachusetts insurance industry as CAR.
A long-time employee of the industry operated residual market and the designated statistical agent for motor vehicle insurance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Ms. Browne said in a communication to Agency Checklists,
“I am very appreciative of the opportunity that has been provided to me and I am looking forward to continuing to work with my fellow employees, CAR Committee members, agents and company peers.”
The original recommendation to appoint Ms. Browne, which was made by the CAR Governing Committee, was subject to final approval by the Commissioner of Insurance Daniel Judson. The official announcement of Commissioner Judson’s approval was made on March 10th.
Thirty-plus years of service at CAR
Ms. Browne’s impressive 30-plus year career with the authority has included serving in a number of managerial positions over the years, including positions relating to data collection, data quality, reporting systems, and business operations. Prior to becoming Vice President of Business Operations, she most recently served as CAR’s Director of Operation Services.
A graduate of St. Lawrence University, Ms. Browne received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from that institution. She then went on to obtain an MBA from Boston University. In addition to these degrees, Ms. Browne also has her CPCU designation.
