Transamerica is one of the world’s leading financial services companies
Life insurer Transamerica announced this month that it will be opening a new call center in Norwood. The new center will replace an existing center in the Houston area. Agency Checklists contacted a representative at Transamerica, who explained that the insurer’s current lease for its Houston, Texas call center office will expire later this year. As a result, the Transamerica representative said the insurer made the decision not to renew the lease, but instead relocate the center to its Norwood, Massachusetts office.
The new Norwood call center will generate approximately 74 new jobs
Slated to open this year, the new Norwood call center location will generate approximate 74 new jobs in the area. While the life insurer plans to begin hiring employees immediately, it also anticipates keeping the Houston office call center open until September 2, 2016.
In an email to Agency Checklists, the Transamerica representative explained the process as follows:
Positions posted in Norwood will be eligible for a relocation assistance and, as is our custom, all employees adversely impacted will be provided with outplacement assistance. Finally, it is important to note that this office closure will not impact our business or the services we provide our clients. The Plan Sponsors and Plan Participants we support will continue to receive the same high level of service they have come to expect.
