The Auto Damage Appraisers Licensing Board has scheduled its next meeting for January 24th at 9:30 AM. While independent from the Division of Insurance, all of the ADALB hearings are held at the DOI offices located at 1000 Washington Street.
The ADALB is responsible for the regulation of appraisers charged with appraising automobile damage in Massachusetts. The ADALB is independent from the Division of Insurance, with four of the five Board members being appointed by the Governor. The fifth is appointed by the Commissioner of Insurance.
According to its webpage, it is charged with the following:
The Board institutes and maintains standards for the conduct of motor vehicle damage appraisers. It conducts licensing examinations, processes applications and issues and renews licenses. Its members can suspend, cancel and revoke licenses following a hearing process that may result from complaints that are brought before the Board. The Board may also not renew licenses where allegations of misconduct exist. The Board sets licensing eligibility requirements, approves training programs and establishes license revocation guidelines.”
