The First Tee of Massachusetts aims to promote and preserve the integrity and values of the game of golf in the Commonwealth.
The Young Agents Committee, a subset of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, recently announced a $2,500 donation to The First Tee of Massachusetts. Founded in 1903, The First Tee of Massachusetts is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of amateur golf in the Commonwealth. The YAC’s donation will help fund programs aimed at introducing children to the game of golf.
“We are thrilled to have received this very generous donation for our program,” said Joe McCabe, executive director of The First Tee of Massachusetts. “It is great that a group such as the young agents recognizes our program and wants to support our youth development initiative.”
The decision to donate to First Tee came during the Committee’s Second Annual Young Agents Invitational Golf Tournament, held at the Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton on May 21st.

Young Agents Committee welcomes all young insurance professionals, not just licensed producers
The Young Agents Committee represents the youngest sector of Massachusetts insurance professionals. The goal of the YAC is to encourage young insurance professionals to become more aware and involved with the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents. The MAIA is the leading trade association for insurance agents in the Commonwealth serving approximately 1,400 insurance agencies and their nearly 10,000 employees.
Anyone who has worked in the insurance industry less than five years or who is under 40 is welcome to join. The Committee emphasizes that “young agent” does not mean only licensed producers. Ultimately, the YAC says that it’s goal is to offer “…networking events, educational programming, and mentorship for new entrants into the insurance industry with the goal of engaging a new generation of professionals and industry leaders.”
