Plymouth Rock has promoted Patty Mellon to the position of Field Marketing Manager. In this new role, she will oversee the company’s Marketing Representatives in Massachusetts as well as work with all of the insurer’s agency partners within the Commonwealth.

In an announcement sent to the company’s appointed independent agents, Chief of Agency Marketing Gary M. Sjolin congratulated Ms. Mellon noting her long commitment to both the insurer and its independent agency partners.

“I’m looking forward to working with Patty in her new capacity. She has been a tremendous asset to Plymouth Rock for a number of years and I am confident you will enjoy working with her,” wrote Mr. Sjolin.

Ms. Mellon, who has been with Plymouth Rock for more than two decades, first began her career in the Massachusetts insurance industry as an Account Executive with the Nancy Bender Insurance Agency.

In 1995, she joined Plymouth Rock, initially focusing on field technology and connectivity before transitioning into the company’s Massachusetts Field Marketing Team. Prior to her promotion, she was a Massachusetts Marketing Representative, primarily working with the insurer’s North Shore agents.

Going forward, Ms. Mellon says that she will focus her energy in working with all of the company’s Massachusetts-based agents and is “excited to expand her role and create new connections” and plans to focus on “finding new ways to strengthen and grow relationships as well as to add value to agencies”.

Joanne Smith, Senior Marketing Representative in New Hampshire, will transfer to Massachusetts

As a result of Ms. Mellon’s appointment, Mr. Sjolin also announced in the letter that Joanne Smith had accepted a transfer to the Massachusetts North Shore territory to fill the position vacated by Ms. Mellon.

According to the letter, Ms. Smith first joined Plymouth Rock Assurance in 2002, starting out with the Customer Service team before moving on to our Underwriting department. For the past decade, she served as PRAC’s Senior Marketing Representative for New Hampshire where he noted she set ” a high standard of excellence in service and growth that led Plymouth Rock to be a leading insurance carrier in the state”.

As noted above, in her new role she will report to Patty Mellon, along with the other Massachusetts Marketing Representatives.
