The Boston Chapter of the CPCU Society will be holding its April Good Works Event at the Greater Boston Food Bank. The following are all the details from the Boston Chapter’s website on how to attend as well as link to register:
Please join us to volunteer at the Greater Boston Food Bank 70 South Bay Ave. Boston, MA 02118. You will help sort general food items and the experience includes a training at the beginning. It is a very well organized operation and those who have participated in the past felt it was a uplifting experience.
Please register in advance as we need to give a list prior to the event to the Greater Boston Food Bank. You can do so here.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older, and all volunteers under 18 require an adult chaperone.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Carlos Nobles email@example.com
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, email Carlos Nobles firstname.lastname@example.org
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We have a small parking lot for staff and visitors, available during regular business hours (8:00am-4:30pm). Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee parking as space is extremely limited. We strongly encourage using public transportation, ride-share services, and carpooling. Large groups (20+ volunteers) may want to consider arranging a charter bus. Buses are able to park close by at the South Bay Shopping Center.
What should I wear to volunteer?
Volunteers MUST wear closed-toed shoes in order to volunteer. You should wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty, as our products can be dusty at times. The warehouse tends to be chilly in the winter and hot in the summer, so layered clothing is suggested. Volunteers work around machinery so loose hanging items (such as longer necklaces) should be avoided and long hair pulled back.
