On Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., the Massachusetts Division of Insurance will hold a hearing regarding the proposed amendments to the Performance Standards for the Handling and Payment of Private Passenger Claims by Servicing Carriers. Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers or CAR adopted these standards on November 3, 2010. Pursuant to Massachusetts Insurance Law, the Commissioner of Insurance must review, and approve or modify the proposed amendments to the Performance Standards.

The proposed amendments have been designated as C2011-01. Anyone interested in providing oral or written comment regarding the amendments should submit a Notice of Intent to the Division no later than today, March 4, 2011. All notices and submissions should be sent to the Docket Clerk, Hearings and Appeals, Division of Insurance. The Presiding Officer for this hearing will be Jean Farrington.
