As Agency Checklists reported last week, the Governing Committee of CAR approved the selection of Horton International as the Executive Search firm charged with recruiting candidates to replace retiring President Ralph Iannaco. Horton International is an executive search firm founded in the U.S. in 1978. It specializes in the recruitment of talent for a variety of sectors including general management, information technology and marketing. The firm now has a global presence with some 43 office locations in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
Scott Esposito, a Managing Director of Horton International’s West Hartford, Connecticut office will be spearheading the search project alongside the Governing Committee of CAR. “We are pleased to be part of the team that will source, assess and recommend the best candidate for this important position,” Mr. Esposito told Agency Checklists. In Mr. Esposito’s opinion the search project which officially began on June 13th is expected to span a two to three month period.

Successful candidates must possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of senior management experience in the insurance or financial services industry. Preferred backgrounds include risk management, operations or underwriting in a property casualty insurance environment.
Other relevant experience includes the following:

- Effective change management experience
- Solid project management skills
- Ability to develop and implement creative and effective solutions to problems
- Experience in the use and application of metrics and statistics to assess performance and recommend action plans
