The Traveler’s “Protection Plan” for Events has been expanded to go beyond weddings and will now include specific coverages for privates special events including:
- anniversaries;
- birthdays;
- sweet sixteen celebrations;
- baby showers;
- holiday parties; and
- retirements among others
The Travelers believes that at a time when people are more cautious than ever about spending their money, special event insurance coverage will provide them with the piece of mind to host their special event without worrying about risk.
Consumers invest a lot of time and money planning and hosting special occasions that celebrate major lifetime events and milestones,” says Chantal Cyr, Vice President of Personal Insurance for Travelers. “this product provides some piece of mind so the host can take time to enjoy the special event and not worry about how to handle the finances should the event be postponed or if a vendor fails to deliver.”
Specifics of the Protector Plan include coverages for problems such as severe weather, transportation shutdowns and lost deposits. In addition, this expanded plan offers consumers the option to add additional liability insurance with no deductible as an endorsement to their special event insurance policy.
Travelers says the basic policy (Core Coverage) can, “…reimburse you in case you lose your non-recoverable deposits and purchases if covered circumstances beyond your control cause you to cancel or postpone your event. You can also be protected against no-show or bankrupt vendors, damage to event attire, damaged gifts and much more.”
