The Insurance Center of New England has promoted William O. Trudeau to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Trudeau will succeed current president Dean M. Florian who will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors of ICNE.
“Bill Trudeau has been a driving force in the growth of ICNE for many years, particularly in our Commercial Insurance & Employee Benefits division.” said Florian. “It’s time now for someone with ‘younger eyes’ to lead the agency into the ever-changing future business environment. We have great respect and confidence in Bill Trudeau.”
Trudeau has been with ICNE for 22 years, the last six of which he has served as the agency’s Chief Operating Officer. He is a 1990 graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, and holds the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), AFSB, and AAI. Trudeau also is a Licensed Insurance Adviser in Massachusetts and serves on the Agent Advisory Councils of both the Hanover Insurance Group and Arbella Mutual Insurance.
In addition to his professional designations, Trudeau is active in his community and is the past Chairman and current board member of the Pioneer Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, board member of The STCC Foundation and board member of Hilltop Services, Inc. He also serves on the American Cancer Society Gala Committee and is a guest lecturer on insurance at Western New England University School of Law.
The Insurance Center of New England has roots dating back to 1866 and is currently one of the largest locally owned, independent insurance agencies in New England. It is a full-service agency split evenly between its Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance & Employee Benefits divisions. Headquartered in Agawam, ICNE has a staff of over 60 employees and operates out of seven other locations in Gardner, Orange, Winchendon, Fitchburg, Lowell, Danvers and Haverhill.
