Wellesley-based Renaissance Alliance Insurance Services has welcomed five new member agencies to its roster. Among them is the MHA Insurance Agency, an independent agency located in Burlington, and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Massachusetts Hospital Association. The other four members are Southeast Agency, W.J. Irish Insurance Agency, The Stone Agency, and Chittenden Group, all full service agencies based in Connecticut.
“The addition of five premier agencies is another growth point in our ongoing commitment to New England insurance agencies and the customers they serve,” said President of RAIS Bruce Cochrane in the company’s announcement.
Mr. Cochrane began his insurance career at the Cochrane and Porter Insurance Agency, an independent agency that his father started in the 1950s. He formed and launched the Renaissance Alliance in 1999, in order “to enhance the manner in which the independent agency system typically conducts business.”
With this latest announcement the company now boasts over 100-plus members, 64 of those who come from Massachusetts. It also claims an aggregate premium of more than $450 million.
