Boston-based Risk Strategies Company Acquires Another Massachusetts Agency

October 23, 2012 by AC Editor

This is the second Massachusetts agency acquisition for the company in nine months.

Boston-based Risk Strategies Company has acquired D&D Insurance Agency, a full service agency based in Burlington. This is the second acquisition for the brokerage and risk management firm in Massachusetts in the last nine months. In December of 2011, it acquired Global Insurance Network, Inc. a real estate/condo market insurance specialist based in Needham.

“The D&D acquisition continues our strategy of acquiring high growth firms that complement our existing lines of business and it allows Risk Strategies Company to further expand our Boston-area professional staff and client base,” said Michael Christian, Chief Executive Officer of Risk Strategies Company. “Since 2008, Mark Vallucci has grown D&D Insurance Agency’s business by delivering superior client service through personalized attention. We welcome Mark to our team and we look forward to working with D&D’s staff and clients.”

D & D Insurance Agency is an independent agency based in Burlington

A graduate of Providence College, D&D Principal Mark Valluci  has more than 20 years experience as a Massachusetts independent agent. In 1991, he began the Valluci Insurance Agency which he ran from 1991 to 1996. In 1996, the Valluci agency merged with Durkin & DeVrues and Mr. Valluci became the Personal Lines Manager of the newly formed entity.

In 2008, Valluci, formed D&D Insurance Agency, a full service agency offering auto, home and business insurance. Over the last four years, the company has grown to five employees and two locations in Burlington and  Framingham.  Ultimately, however,Valluci says the decision to join forces with RSC rested with the opportunity to give his agency and clients all the benefits that only a larger organization can afford them.

“Risk Strategies Company has built a strong and diversified insurance brokerage firm, along with a great reputation,” said Vallucci. “We look forward to joining forces with RSC.  As part of a larger firm, we can provide a broader array of products, services and expert resources, while offering the best coverage and pricing, all while maintaining the close, personal approach upon which I have built the D&D business.”

While the specific terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the parties did note that under the terms of this new deal,Valluci will become a Vice President of RSC, where he will seek to expand RSC’s personal and commercial lines business. In addition, all of D&D’s former employees will become RSC employees effective immediately.  The former D&D staff will continue to service new and existing clients from both the company’s Randolph and Burlington offices.
