Now is your chance to be one of the first to advertise on massrmv.com
The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicle debuted its new address yesterday: www.massrmv.com. The revamped website will aim to give RMV customers a more enhanced experience by providing access to on-line RMV transactions in a more streamlined and user-friendly way. In addition, by transition over to a new “.com” address, the RMV has taken on a new more commercial-like focus by being the first motor vehicle administration in the country that will be able to generate additional revenue by accepting on-line advertising.
“This is a great example of MassDOT’s continued emphasis on making our services more user-friendly,” said MassDOT Secretary and CEO Richard A. Davey. “MassRMV.com makes online transactions simpler for the customer and gives us additional revenue opportunities.”
Adds Registrar of Motor Vehicles Rachel Kaprielian,
“MassRMV.com is now the official website of the Registry of Motor Vehicles where customers may perform 35 different transactions safely and securely. We work hard to drive customer traffic to the web, so we recognize our obligation to make this mode of service delivery as convenient as possible.”
With the arrival of this new consumer-focused website, the Registry will now be able to offer the ability to conduct more transactions on-line, from scheduling a road test, to signing up for E-ZPass MA.
The RMV will be offering limited advertising opportunities
In addition to being more consumer-friendly, the new massrmv.com also aims to be more business-savy as well with more than 16 million visits to its website annually. By offering limited advertising opportunities, the RMV estimates that it will be able to generate an additional $65,000 a year.
And for those who think this might seem a brash step into the commercial world for the RMV, it is important to note that the RMV has long had various advertising partnerships. For example, it accepts advertising for its mailers which help defray the production costs as well as accepting advertising on its closed-circuit TV throughout its various branches. The new advertisements on the RMV website will be a natural extension and supplement to the current partnerships already in place says the Registy.
For those interested in this new opportunity, Municipal Media Solutions will be handling advertising for the new massrmv.com. The advertising will be limited to select informational pages and will not on customer transaction pages. The Registry expects to finalize its contract with this vendor shortly and to begin accepting advertisers there after. You can see how your advertisement might look by viewing the MassDOT and RMV services which are filling the ad slots on the site right now.
