With Addition of Massachusetts, Producers Can Now Use The NIPR For All Non-Resident Licensing Needs

April 30, 2013 by AC Editor

Massachusetts was the last state to have been added

Earlier this month, the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) announced that producers can now utilize NIPR for all non-resident licensing needs. With the addition of initial non-resident licenses in Massachusetts, non-resident licensing is now available through the NIPR in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

NIPR is extremely excited to have completed the last remaining state so that producers and authorized submitters can use www.nipr.com  to electronically apply or renew individual resident and non-resident licenses in all 50 states and the District of Columbia… For more than a decade, NIPR has been working with the states to achieve this goal,” said NIPR Board President and New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger A. Sevigny. “State regulators and NIPR staff have worked closely to meet the needs of states while making the non-resident licensing process easier and more accessible for producers across the country.”

What are the benefits to a producer of using the NIPR

Agency Checklists contacted the NIPR to find out more about the benefits available to producers in choosing to use the National Insurance Producer Registry. Here is what they had to say:

“When a producer (or the producer’s authorized submitter) needs to obtain these licenses, they now have a centralized solution which is more efficient than using a combination of solutions i.e. multiple web-sites or paper. Using a standardized format, the NIPR online applications verify producer information with NIPR’s Producer Data Base; the applications automatically calculate fees and allow the user to apply in all states using a single application.   Sometimes the process for certain states can take less than half a day.”

For those producers looking to get started on a non-resident license right now, click here to begin your application on the NIPR website.
