16th agency acquisition since 2004 for Eastern Insurance

Eastern Insurance has acquired the Westover Insurance Agency of Lynnfield. Owned and operated by its founder, Dean Westover, the Westover Insurance Agency has been selling insurance in the Lynnfield area since 1970.

“We are excited to welcome Westover Insurance and its customers to the Eastern Insurance family,” said Hope Aldrich, president and CEO of Eastern Insurance.  “For more than 40 years, Westover Insurance has built an excellent reputation for superior customer service and products, making it a perfect cultural fit to our organization.”

This will be the 16th acquisition for the Natick-based subsidiary of Eastern Bank, since 2004. Eastern Insurance is the largest insurance agency headquartered in Massachusetts. It ranks as 48th largest agency in the nation with over 70,000 individual and business policyholders. While the company already has four locations north of Boston, the insurance agency says that this latest acquisition will definitely help increase its customer base.

The company plans to serve Westover’s former customers in its Wakefield office location which is located only five miles from the Westover Insurance Agency’s offices in Lynnfield.
