Ms. Deveney was named Interim Registrar by MassDOT Secretary Pollack
Erin Deveney has been appointed to the post of Interim Registrar of Motor Vehicles. The one-year appointment began on Monday, March 16, 2015.
“Erin’s deep understanding of the RMV’s systems and employees will allow her to quickly focus on how the Registry can become more convenient and customer friendly,” said Secretary Pollack. “I am excited that Erin is joining our team.”
Mr. Deveney, succeeds outgoing Registrar Celia Blue. Ms. Blue had been the RMV’s Registrar since January 30, 2014. She will now transfer over to a new role as a MassDOT Senior Advisor for operations assisting Secretary Pollack.
“I am excited for the opportunity to re-join the RMV in the new role as Registrar,” Deveney said. “I want to thank Secretary Pollack for her confidence in me and for the opportunity to serve on her senior team. The Secretary has set a clear goal of moving the RMV into a new era as a customer-focused organization and I look forward to finding new and innovative ways to meet that challenge.”

“Serving as Registrar has truly been a tremendous honor,” Blue said. “I look forward to continuing my service to the Commonwealth in my new role with MassDOT.”
No stranger to the RMV, Ms. Deveney was the Chief of Staff at the RMV for five years as well as previously serving as its Deputy Registrar, General Counsel from 2000 to 2005, under Dan Grabauskas. Ms. Deveney moves over to the RMV from the Department of Children and Families where she had served as Interim Commissioner since April 2014.
A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Ms. Deveney earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1997.
