This will be the 17th President for the 187 year old Vermont Mutual Insurance Group
During its annual meeting on April 15, 2015, Vermont Mutual’s Board of Directors named Daniel C. Bridge as it new President. Mr. Bridge will become the 17th president of the 187 year old group of companies. He replaces former President and current Chief Executive Officer William A. Catto, who will retire on June 30, 2015.
“As Executive Vice President, Dan has played a lead role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization” said CEO, William A. Catto. “Dan’s election to President is an important step in the leadership transition plan that began several years ago and I have every confidence in his ability to continue to advance our strategy, one that has consistently produced excellent operating results.”
Mr. Bridge has been with Vermont Mutual since January 2009 when he joined the company as a Resident Vice President. In 2012 he became a Senior Vice President and in 2014 an Executive Vice President. Prior to joining Vermont Mutual, his experience in the New England insurance industry included senior leadership positions at several regional and national insurance companies including Liberty Mutual, One Beacon and The Hanover. He is graduate of Saint Anselm College.

AM Best recently upgraded Vermont Mutual’s Rating
Chartered in 1828, Vermont Mutual continues to remain a healthy and strong company. As one of the ten oldest mutual property/casualty insurers in the country, the company continues to insure its approximately 285,000 policyholders through the more than 500 independent insurance agencies it works with throughout New England. In December 2014, AM Best upgraded the 187 year old group of companies to A+ Superior.
