Laura M. Casamento

Preferred Mutual Insurance Company is proud to announce the appointment of Laura M. Casamento, Ed.D. to the Board of Directors.

Laura Casamento brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles across corporate and higher education sectors, with a strong background in strategic finance, organizational transformation, and community development. She is also a valuable addition to the board’s Compensation and Benefits Committee.

Casamento most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Utica University, where she spearheaded numerous initiatives that led to institutional growth, including achieving university status, improving student success, and enhancing the university’s reputation through key partnerships. She also led record-breaking fundraising efforts and expanded opportunities for local workforce development.

In addition to her experience in higher education, Casamento has an extensive background in the financial sector, having served as President and COO of Herkimer County Trust. During her time there, she successfully guided the bank through a period of growth and played a pivotal role in its eventual sale.

“We are honored to welcome Laura Casamento to our board,” said John C. Mitchell, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Preferred Mutual Insurance Company. “Her extensive experience in both leadership and community engagement will be instrumental as we continue to pursue our strategic objectives and impact our community.”
