The MAIA Launches Its 2012 Agent Awareness Campaign

March 15, 2012 by Owen Gallagher

The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents plans to spend over $600,000 for its 2012 campaign

This month the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, or the MAIA, will launch its 2012 Agent Awareness Campaign. According to a recent MAIA newsletter, this year’s campaign will mark the 13th year that the MAIA has conducted this campaign “to promote the value of doing business with independent insurance agents.”

Over the past 12 years, the MAIA says it and its company partners have invested over $6.9 million dollars in advertising to highlight the unique benefits of using an independent insurance agent. This year’s campaign plans to expand its outreach by including the following:

  • Over 4,400 radio ads on 28 stations across Massachusetts;
  • Advertisements will run during three flights for a total of 10 weeks;
  • This year’s campaign will be a 10% increase over last year’s;
  • The text “Trusted Choice Independent Insurance Agent” will be included in this year’s advertisements to serve as the technological threshold to the IIABA’s Consumer Agent Portal (Project CAP);

In addition, the MAIA says that it also has increased the support and number of its company partners from 25 to 27. This year’s Diamond Sponsors of the 2012 Agent Awareness Campaign are Arbella Insurance, The Hanover Insurance Group, and Safety Insurance. This year’s Platinum Partners include The Andover Companies, Mapfre/Commerce, Norfolk & Dedham, Peerless Insurance, Plymouth Rock and The Quincy Mutual Group.
