Fielded over 80,000 calls in 2011 dealing with consumer complaints
The Office of Consumer Affairs announced its Top Five Consumer Complaints for 2011. This is the third year that Undersecretary Barbara Anthony and the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations has held a press conference to unveil the Top Five Consumer Complaints of 2011 along with officials from the Attorney General’s office and the Better Business Bureau.
Falling under the umbrella of The Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation are the following agencies: The Division of Insurance, The Division of Banks, The Division of Professional Licensure, The Division of Standards, The State Racing Commission and The Department of Telecommunication and Cable.
In 2011, Undersecretary Anthony said that the five agencies and her office fielded approximately 80,000 consumer complaint calls. Of those 80,000 calls, approximately 23,000 of those calls involved one of the complaints cited in the Top Five.
