“It is my pleasure and honor to work with Lisa in a professional capacity in the insurance industry, and on the Board at Special Olympics Vermont,” said Hickok & Boardman Director of Operations and SOVT Board Chair, Jay Nunn. “Given her strong business acumen and love of the SOVT mission, she was the perfect choice to join our Board and we are honored that she has done so.”

Lisa is the first woman to head Union Mutual since the Company’s founding in 1874. She joined Union Mutual in 1995 and has held numerous leadership roles in her 27-year tenure. Lisa is committed to Special Olympics Vermont’s mission of promoting inclusion through sports. She is consistently one of the top annual fundraisers for Special Olympics Vermont through the Penguin Plunge and has volunteered at the Summer Games since 2015. She lives in Burlington with her husband, and they have a daughter who lives in Seattle, Washington.

Lisa is serving as the Co-Chair of the upcoming 2022 Special Olympics Vermont Benefit Golf Tournament, along with Paul Plunkett, President & COO of Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group. The event will be held on May 23 at Burlington Country Club.

“I am pleased that I will be able to carry out my personal and professional commitment to Special Olympics Vermont by serving on the SOVT Board of Directors,” Keysar said. “Union Mutual’s support of Special Olympics Vermont throughout the year, from the Penguin Plunge to the Summer Games, has become a cornerstone of our award-winning Company culture, and we have developed many meaningful relationships through this partnership. I am excited to continue to tell the organization’s story while helping to ensure that it is a financially responsible and sound organization.”

The Board of Special Olympics Vermont helps raise the funds essential to offer programming and focuses on the sound financial management of the organization. Directors also bring time and talent to the Board to help the organization run as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Board is a diverse group of approximately 20 dedicated individuals with backgrounds in business management, communications, marketing, finance, insurance, government, law, sports, education, and more. Special Olympics is the organization of inclusion, and there are two very active SOVT athletes that serve on the Board of Directors.
