MONTPELIER – Union Mutual is pleased to announce the Company’s Customer Support Supervisor, Alyssa Pierce, was recently recognized by Vermont Business Magazine as a “Rising Star” in recognition of her contributions to the community and the Vermont economy as an outstanding young leader.
The Rising Star program recognizes 40 individuals under the age of 40 from the State of Vermont. The individuals are chosen by a panel of judges for their commitment to business growth, professional excellence and involvement in their communities.
“It is wonderful to see Alyssa recognized as a Rising Star,” Union Mutual President & CEO Lisa Keysar said of Pierce. “She is a valued employee who uses her experience to be a problem solver and also inspires others by actively pursuing opportunities for professional development.”
Pierce joined the Company in 2015 and participated in the Company’s “Employee Development Program,” an immersive 2-year training program during which the employee spends time working in each department of the Company. After graduating from that Program, Pierce was promoted to Customer Support Technical Lead, and later to Customer Support Supervisor. She currently leads a team of nine employees that support the claims, underwriting, and billing functions of the Company, and have direct interaction with agents and insureds. Alyssa has been an active fundraiser and volunteer for a variety of community organizations including Special Olympics Vermont and the Kelly Brush Foundation.
