This is the 24th acquisition by the Marsh & McLennan Agency since 2009
The Marsh & McLennan Agency announced today that it has acquired The Protector Group Insurance Agency, an independent agency based in Worcester, Ma. The Marsh & McLennan Agency or MAA is a subsidiary of the the global insurance broker Marsh, Inc. Commenting on the transaction, David Eslick, chairman and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Agency, said:

The Protector Group has been an independent insurance agency operating in Massachusetts since 1928. It is a full service agency with three locations in Wellesley, Leominister and its headquarters in Worcester. Beginning as a small agency in Milford, the company has grown over the years to become one of the largest independent insurance agencies catering to both personal and commercial clients throughout New England. As of today, the agency in one of the largest in New England generating approximately $13.6 million in annual revenues and employing a staff of 84.
Bob Vandreuil has been the President and Chief Executive Officer for The Protector Group since 1994 and is optimistic about the next step for the agency that he has run for the last 18 years.

While the exact terms of the deal has not been disclosed, the Protector Group will continue to operate out the agency’s existing offices and that all of the agency’s leadership and staff will join MMA as employees.
