The election of Myers and Standing by A.I.M.’s Board of Directors took place in mid-May
Effective today, John A. Myers has been named Executive Chairman and CEO of Burlington-based AIM Mutual Insurance Company while Michael E. Standing will become the President of the Companies. The Board of Directors made the announcement in May of this year.
Executive Chairman Myers joined A.I.M. Mutual in 1995 as its President & CEO. He continued in that position until 2011 when the addition role of Chairman was added. The company says that in addition to being responsible for the overall accountability of the Companies, Myers will also remain responsible for claims and administrative oversight. The new President, Mr. Standing, will report to the Executive Chairman as well.
Michael E. Standing becomes the new President of A.I.M. today
In August of 2012, Mr. Standing came to A.I.M. as its Vice President to focus on the companies market and product development as well as creating a more broad-based project management for the company. Prior to this, Mr. Standing spent nine years at Guy Carpenter & Company as a Senior Vice President – Account Executive and member of its Workers Compensation Specialty Practice. With more than 25 years experience in the property and casualty industry, Mr. Standing was previously a vice president of the casualty divisions of Munich Reinsurance Company and Zurich Reinsurance North America. He was also a treaty reinsurance broker for Sedgwick Re. Mr. Standing is a graduate of Philadelphia’s La Salle University.
