Ms. Henry first joined Plymouth Rock in 2012 as Deputy General Counsel
Kathy Henry is the new General Counsel of Plymouth Rock Assurance. Plymouth Rock promoted Ms. Henry to her new position in November of this year. She first joined the Boston-based insurer in early 2012 as Deputy General Counsel.
Prior to that, she was with the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart for 11 years becoming a partner in 2008. She practiced in the firm’s Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group and also served as a Hiring and Pro Bono Partner for the firm before joining Plymouth Rock.
When asked about her thoughts about her selection as General Counsel, Ms. Henry said:
I am thrilled to lead the corporate legal team at Plymouth Rock, and to continue to provide our business clients with the exceptional service that is the hallmark of our entire business. This is a terrific, special company, and I am grateful for the opportunity and excited for the future.
Ms. Henry is a 1995 graduate of Boston University where she received a B.A. Journalism, magna cum laude. In 2000, she graduated from the Northeastern University School of Law. She is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Insurance Library Association of Boston and on the Board of the Political Asylum Representation Project (PAIR). She also is a 2015 Co-Chair of the Northeastern University School of Law Women in the Law Conference and was a 2014 Co-Chair of the BBA Annual Luncheon.
In 2008, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, in partnership with the Women’s Bar Association and the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers, selected Ms. Henry to receive their first “Woman of Justice” Award. The annual award recognizes 40 women in Massachusetts who have made “meaningful and inspiring contributions in the fields of social justice and advocacy.”
A Boston native and mother of three, Ms. Henry ran her 10th marathon in 2015. She continues to call the city her home.
