Boston-based Ask Kodiak Partners With TechCanary; Westborough’s Veruna Launches on Salesforce App Exchange

AskKodiak announces partnership with TechCanary

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance NewsCommercial software platform, AskKodiak has announced that it has entered into a partnership with TechCanary, a cloud-based insurance provider available inside the Salesforce CRM platform. Per the terms of the partnership, TechCanary will now provide AskKodiak capabilities to its users.

“In the traditional insurance environment, agents waste too much time searching for the best commercial coverage for their customers, and carriers need a better way to share their risk appetite with the agents, noted Allan Egbert, Ask Kodiak co-founder in commenting on his company’s new partnership. “In our ongoing effort to simplify rather than disrupt the traditional inefficient distribution model, we are thrilled to be collaborating with TechCanary to bring Kodiak market identification to the TechCanary sales and service platform.”

Reid Holzworth, TechCanary founder and CEO, added, “There is a lot of like mindedness between our two organizations. Both were founded with the objective of leveraging technology and the digital world as enablers to make the insurance experience easier and better for all stakeholders from buyers, to agents, brokers and carriers. We look forward to continuing a close working relationship with the Ask Kodiak team to ensure we maximize the value delivered to our mutual clients.”

For those unfamiliar with TechCanary, it is an Agency Management System built on the Salesforce platform. Founded by Reid Holzworth in 2013, the insurance sales and service productivity platform is currently the #1 insurance solution on Salesforce.com and provides sales and service support for agents, brokers, MGAs and insurance carriers across all lines of insurance.

Reducing two systems into one

The real beauty of this new partnership between AskKodiak and TechCanary, emphasizes Mr. Egbert, is the ability to reduce two systems into one. While both Insurtech companies provide an array of tools to help agents and carriers to better connect with one another, by partnering together, the companies provide a “complete solution – a full insurance operations platform, CRM, and quick and easy market identification to find the best available coverage to meet a customer’s insurance needs.”

By working with TechCanary, AskKodiak will be able to fully leverage TechCanary’s platform within the Salesforce community to increase profitability, efficiency and communication for agents with respect to their carriers and their market needs. The result, says both companies, will be reduced costs for agencies along with higher close rates.

Veruna also makes a Salesforce-related announcement

In another Salesforce-related announcement, Westborough-based Veruna announced that it has officially launched on the Salesforce AppExchange on March 1. The Salesforce AppExchange, is a cloud-computing marketplace “…through which end users can access, download and install applications customized for Salesforce.”

Veruna, which launched earlier this year, also is an Agency Management System based on the Salesforce platform. By harnessing the existing Salesforce platform, Veruna AMR, the company’s technology platform, provides independent insurance agents with an agency management system using modules built from the “ground-up” to manage all lines of business. Differentiating itself from legacy platforms, the company says were built for “…only one insurance vertical ages ago,” the company offers various purpose-built modules.

In addition, the company notes that by leveraging Salesforce, Veruna can also offer independent agents over 3,000 business apps via the Salesforce App Exchange. The Massachusetts company already has won for its design acumen, picking up the ACORD Global Innovation Challenge Award the week it officially launched.
