Everquote Launches Heath And Renters Insurance Verticals
The Cambridge-based online insurance marketplace has expanded its marketplace to now include both health insurance and renters insurance. These two new markets build on the marketplace’s existing auto, home & life insurance offerings.
We are excited to launch the health and renters insurance verticals as we continue to play a growing role in empowering consumers to better protect life’s most important assets, and the inclusion of health and renters insurance are both natural extensions of our insurance marketplace for consumers and providers,” said Seth Birnbaum, CEO and Co-Founder of EverQuote.
TrueMotion partners with Noblr
TrueMotion, also based in Cambridge, has entered into a new partnership with Noblr, a new online auto insurance company that rewards its customers for good driving habits.
“We’re building a different kind of car insurance company, based on creating a community of safe drivers and rewarding those drivers,” said Noblr CEO and co-founder Gary Tolman. “We needed a smartphone telematics partner that could accurately identify drivers and capture driving behaviors like smoothness and focus – without the crutch of a hardware device or tag. When we looked at the market, TrueMotion was the winner, hands down.”
“Noblr is one of the most exciting new entrants to the auto insurance market and we’re proud to be powering their driving behavior data,” said TrueMotion CEO Ted Gramer. “The future of auto insurance will be fueled by smartphone driving data. With variable monthly rates based on actual driving data derived from smartphones, the Noblr team has built a product that will allow it to deliver one of the best user experiences in the market today.”
As partners, Noblr will have access to TruMotion’s patented platform allowing it to leverage driving insights for its members as well as for more accurate pricing. According to Noblr, its pricing is calculated in real time via an insured’s smartphone, requiring no additional hardware or Bluetooth tag to be installed in a vehicle. Its monthly rate is composed of both a fixed and variable rate.
As for TrueMotion, it also captures its driving data via a smartphone. Its patented platform identifies driving behaviors like hard braking, harsh acceleration, speeding, and distracted driving. TrueMotion’s technology works in the background to identify drivers and capture driving data, so Noblr customers just need to download the app and drive. There is no hardware or tag to install.
