Fundación MAPFRE, a nonprofit foundation, and the City of Boston teamed up on a video public service announcement to encourage staying home and social distancing.
The PSA is being distributed in Massachusetts today and over the weekend, in time for Patriots Day on Monday, or Marathon Monday, when the Boston Marathon traditionally has been held. More than a half-million spectators and 30,000 runners fill the streets every year for the Boston Marathon. This year, things will look a bit different as the pandemic has forced organizers to postpone the race until September.
To encourage participants to stay home and off the marathon route this Patriots Day weekend and maintain social distancing in general, the foundation and the City of Boston partnered to make this PSA, which is voiced by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.
