Deland, Gibson Insurance Acquires The Dickey Insurance Agency

The third and fourth generations of Gibson Deland

Deland, Gibson Insurance is expanding further into Cape Cod. The Wellesley-based Insurance and Risk Management Consultant agency has announced its acquisition of the Dickey Insurance Agency of Dennis Port.

Founded in the 1940’s in Brewster, the Dickey Insurance Agency has been a family-owned and operated independent insurance agency for over 80 years. The agency is currently run by Ron and Jane Remy.

“We are thrilled to establish a presence in Dennis Port,” said Chip Gibson, CEO of Deland, Gibson in commenting on his agency’s latest acquisition. “We see opportunity to better serve our clients on Cape Cod and bring employment opportunities as we look to expand in the area. Jane and Ron Remy have fostered a client-first service culture in Dickey Insurance, we look forward to continuing the high bar they have set for their clients and community.”

According to the terms of the transaction, which officially closed on December 31, 2020, Ron and Jane Remy’s partnership with Deland, Gibson will focus on expanding their insurance offerings to their customer base in this area; going forward, the addition of Dickey Insurance will also bring additional expertise to the Deland, Gibson team in areas such as flood insurance.

“The Dickey Agency is a great fit for D,G and will bring more expertise to the Flood Insurance practice,” noted Ted Gibson. “We are excited to pick up on the community and company partner involvement that Ron and Jane Remy were dedicated to.”
