Vermont Mutual Charitable Donations Help Local Communities

February 16, 2024 by AC Editor

MONTPELIER, Vermont (February 15, 2024)—Vermont Mutual Insurance Group®, one of the oldest property and casualty insurers in the Northeast, has contributed more than $1,000,000 to local charities in 2023 through its Charitable Giving Fund. Since its founding in 2014, Vermont Mutual’s Charitable Giving Fund has donated over $4.6 Million to help support organizations in the communities where they do business.

The Vermont Mutual Insurance Group Charitable Giving Fund (the “Fund”) was established with the express purpose of contributing to non-profit organizations that serve communities through one of the following four initiatives:

  • Promote Education: Examples may include traditional and non-traditional opportunities focused on inspiring academic excellence, leadership and community service.
  • Foster Youth: Examples may include teaching and modeling positive life skills.
  • Community-based: Programs that build better communities in which to live and work.
  • Satisfy Basic Needs: Examples may include affordable housing, homelessness and hunger.

In 2023 the Fund contributed to more than 240 organizations throughout the northeast, including nearly $500,000 to assist individuals, business owners and farmers devastated by flooding in Vermont in July all while dealing with significant loss to their Montpelier home office.

Dan Bridge, Vermont Mutual’s President and CEO, remarked “It is with a deep sense of satisfaction that Vermont Mutual, through our Charitable Giving Fund, is able to help support the many charitable organizations who in turn reach so many individuals and families.” Bridge added “While our giving extends throughout the northeast, we are proud to join the many others who continue to support rebuilding efforts from the July flooding across Vermont.”
