Homesite Insurance, the national, full-service property insurer for the condominium and renters markets recently announced the appointment of Andrew A. McElwee, Jr. as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Mr. McElwee will be part of Homesite’s executive management team and will be responsible for the underwriting profit of the company’s personal lines portfolio. He will report directly to Homesite’s President and COO, Doug Batting.

In beginning this new chapter with Homesite Insurance, Mr. McElwee leaves behind an impressive 25-year career with Chubb Insurance. Most recently, Mr. McElwee was the The Chief Operating Officer of Chubb Personal Insurance (CPI), which grew to almost $4billion under his stewardship. Prior to Chubb, Mr. McElwee also held positions at Morgan Stanley and Dewey & LeBoeuf. Mr. McElwee completed his undergraduate studies at Davidson College and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Currently, he is completing an MS in Risk Management from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
