Mass. Agent Daniel Morse is the new MAIA Chairmain
The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents announced its new Board of Directors for the upcoming year during the Association’s annual state meeting , better known as, The Big Event. Current Chairman, Jon Koegel, announced that Daniel Morse, the President of the Morse Insurance Agency of Easton, will be the new Chairman for the 2020 year.
Mr. Morse is a second-generation owner of the Morse Insurance Agency. The family-owned and operated agency was founded by Mr. Morse’s father in 1988. Upon graduating from Johnson State College in 1992, Mr. Morse joined his father in the agency, thus beginning his career in insurance. Shortly thereafter, his two brothers joined the agency, with all three eventually purchasing the agency from their father, and which they continue to run together.
In taking over as Chairman of the MAIA, Mr. Morse says one of his main priorities for the year will be to continue to help the MAIA help its member agents with its initiative to help fill the talent gap. In addition, Mr. More says he will continue to help the MAIA develop its business consulting services, by providing better data to agents to help them “adapt to the changing times in our industry.”
Four New Associate Members also joined the Board of Directors
In addition to Mr. Morse’s appointment, the MAIA Nominating Committee also presented the following individuals to the Association’s membership for election as the officers and directors for the 2020 Executive Committee: Chairman Elect John R. Sweeney CISR, CIC, Vice Chairman Benjamin Cavallo CIC, AAI, CISR, and Secretary Treasurer, Lisa Hirbour CPCU, CIC. Ray Gallant will continue on as the MAIA’s State National Director.
As for the remaining Board of Directors, Patrick Dempsey, Trudy Lawler, CIC, CPCU, Tom Palito Jr. and Maureen Ross O’Connell, CIC were each elected to a second term on the Board of Directors while the Association welcomed four new directors to this year’s group: John Fallon, Justin Flynn, CISR, AAI, Erin Schaaf, CPCU and Greg Susco.
