Mr. Flynn joins the Cyber Insurtech start-up as Head of Insurance
Sayata Labs, a Massachusetts-based cyber start-up offering a “one-stop solution for placing cyber risk” via an easy and intuitive online platform has announced a new member of its Executive Leadership Team. King Flynn, formerly US employee #2 of UK-Beazley Group has joined the company as its new Head of Insurance.
According to King, he was drawn to the position with Sayata because of their “deep cyber credentials and innovative platform that ultimately removes the barriers for brokers and underwriters to accelerate their growth in developing SME/Mid-Market cyber business. Having been part of an initial start-up team that included a heavy focus on cyber risks, I am excited about this opportunity.”
Mr. Flynn served 15 years with the Beazley Group helping to grow that company’s US carrier business to its reportedly $1B in gross written premiums (GWP). Serving also as the US Head of Broker Relations over the course of his career with Beazley, he was also charged with supporting the company’s various underwriting teams in generating US-sourced business through brokers including cyber/data breach risks.
Prior to his position with Beazley, Mr. King devoted 29 years in the retail brokerage space, most of that time rising through the ranks of global brokers, Johnson & Higgins and later Marsh & McLennan where he was ultimately promoted to Managing Director (Marsh acquired J&H in 1997). In his new role as Sayata’s Head of Insurance, he will focus on leading the cyber insurtech’s growth and distribution strategy. As part of the start-ups executive team, he will report to CEO, Asaf Lifshitz.
