The changes went into effect in March of this year
The Division of Insurance has announced that as of March 14, 2014, it has implemented the newly adopted NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) Uniform Licensing Applications for all new and renewing producers.
In 2011, the Massachusetts became the 50th state to join the National Insurance Producer Registry, a non-profit affiliate of the NAIC. The NIPR is governed by a board of directors consisting of seven NAIC members and six insurance industry members representing a cross-section of the industry. In 2014, Commissioner Murphy was appointed to the Board of Directors.
Persons can apply for a Massachusetts producer license or renew their existing license online at https://www.nipr.com/licensing/index.html.
However, since March 7, 2014, the Division only accepts paper applications from producers, newly applying or renewing licenses, completed on the 2014 Uniform Licensing forms. Persons wishing to submit a paper application can download the appropriate application form below
