The A.J. Marchionne Insurance Agency was founded in Quincy in 1949
On December 11, 2014, we saw an unusual Facebook post from the Marchionne Insurance Agency in which they said “Sometimes we need Insurance too!” After taking a look at the accompanying photo, one could quickly see why:
According to the report post on the agency’s Facebook page as well as other news sources, a 21-year old Braintree man crashed his car into the A.J. Marchionne Insurance Agency in Quincy last Wednesday night (December 10th, 2014) just before 11:30PM. The man, who was injured, fled the scene but has been found and will now face charges.
Most importantly, no one was inside the building at the time of the crash and the agency has been able to remain open for business. While we did not speak directly with the agency, the Boston Globe did and learned that this was not the first time a car had crashed into the agency. According to the article, co-owner Rob Marchionne told the newspaper that this is the second time that he has received a call that a car had crashed into the 65-year old agency. The first time occurred in July 1994 when a car also slammed into the building. Strangest of all, noted Marchionne, is that the location of the agency is located on a street without any curves.
We’re glad that everyone is alright and hope your agency has a quick recovery.
Best of luck.
