2014 was the Wholesale & MGA brokerage’s best year yet
Quincy’s XS Brokers has announced a new leadership team. The staff promotions come in response to the brokerage company’s impressive growth over the last year. In 2014, the company had its best year in its 30+ year history in terms of the number of transactions and policy volume that it conducted, with 2015 continuing to mirror the same trend.
In response, the brokerage firm has announced the following changes and promotions to its leadership team:
Gabe Carrieri
Gabe Carrieri has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Gabe joined XS Brokers in June 2005 after a 13-year career in the investments industry. Since then he has devoted much effort to expanding XS Brokers’ presence and image in Northern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He also has been instrumental in crafting procedures and best practices for staff development. According to Adam Devine, CEO & President, “Gabe has worked tirelessly to accomplish the goals and objectives of the agency, demonstrating a strong foundation in all lines of insurance. Gabe is well respected in and outside of XS Brokers.” A graduate of Providence College, Gabe also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Boston College and has obtained both the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. Gabe will be a member of the Senior Management Team.
Eric Wirkus
Eric Wirkus has been promoted to Vice President. Eric is in the Underwriting area and has been with XS Brokers since 2009. Devine stated “Eric continually demonstrates the utmost professionalism in his daily work, day in and day out. He is an up and coming leader in this organization who always gives thoughtful advice internally or externally and has very strong interpersonal skills. Eric always supports the organization’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting these behaviors: excellence, respect, accountability and ownership.” Eric has over 14 years of insurance related experience including credit analysis and marketing/production roles. Eric is a graduate of University of New Haven with a BA in Economics. Eric will also be a member of the Senior Management Team.
Ian Donegan
Ian Donegan has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. As a member of the XS Brokers team since 2006, Ian was promoted to an Underwriter in 2011. Since then, Ian has been responsible for soliciting, evaluating, quoting and binding sound profitable business. Ian has demonstrated a proven record of success in sales results, marketing, and effective communication to build his book and has been involved in all facets of the underwriting process including rating, risk selection, underwriting and service. He possesses the ability to identify growth opportunities and build out the business while supporting the achievement of the agency’s overall goals
