Vermont Mutual Celebrates Old and New Members of Its “25 Year Club”

September 1, 2015 by AC Editor

Vermont Mutual’s “25 Year Club” club was first established 33 years ago

In this day and age of ever more job insecurity, it’s nice to share some news of a company, and an insurance one to boot, that is celebrating the many employees who have worked for it for more than 25 years. This past August, that is exactly what the 187 year-old Vermont Mutual Insurance Group did.

As it has done for the past 33 years, since the founding of its “25 Year Club” in 1982, Vermont Mutual hosted a reception and dinner in honor of those employees, both active and retired, who have given at least 25 years of service to the mutual company. In his first appearance as the company’s new President and CEO, Dan Bridge had this to say to the club members:

It is a privilege to work with these fine insurance professionals. This event makes it clear that people can enjoy a rewarding career and offer positive lifelong contributions if they find the right home.”

A total of eighty-one guests attended this year’s celebration which honored and recognized several employee milestones. The first order of business was to welcome “the club’s” newest member, Jennifer Rouse, who this year celebrated 25 years with the mutual company. Next, employees Mary Gray and Rose Thompson were acknowledged for their 30 years of service, while Lisa Edson and Lisa Seaver were each honored for 35 years of contributions to the company. Last, but not least, two more employees, Alice Bard and Diane Couture, were honored for their 40 years of service to Vermont Mutual.

The event also elected a new Club President, Kevin Croteau, who has been with Vermont Mutual for the past 27 years. He succeeds Arnold Lawson, a former Vermont Mutual employee from 1963-1999, who announced his retirement from the role of Club President after a 27-year run. Renee Bilodeau, who has been with the company for 29 years, will maintain her position as the Club’s Vice President and Secretary.

Overall, Vermont Mutual’s 25 Year Club boasts an impressive 66 members, 43 of who are active and current employees of the mutual insurance company.
