XS Brokers Welcome Five New Employees

XS Brokers is the largest independent wholesaler in the Northeast

Quincy-based XS Brokers announced this week that several new additions have joined the company roster. “We are very pleased that in today’s competitive marketplace, XS Brokers continues to grow and more importantly, reinvest in its people, technology and building infrastructure,” said XS Broker CEO Adam Devine in a company announcement. “We are thrilled to be adding additional expertise to our growing staff and team. These five individuals all come to us from various backgrounds in the insurance industry, but all of them have the one common trait we are seeking to complement our existing team; a desire to deliver unparalleled service and provide superior underwriting expertise to our retail agency clients & carrier partners.”

As the larger independent wholesaler in the Northeast, the additions of these new employees are part of the company’s plan to continue to expand both its territory and agency clients.

XS Brokers’ Latest Additions

Sean McVicker

Mr. McVicker joins XS Broker as a Broker. Most recently, Mr. McVicker was a Casualty broker with AmTrust E&S, placing general liability accounts including higher hazard contractors, OLT exposures and product liability risks. At XS Brokers, he will join the firm’s Brokerage team which focuses on placing moderate to high hazard type risks including environmental risks.

Amy O’Donnell

XS Brokers has welcomed Ms. O’Donnell as its New Business Marketing specialist. She comes to the firm from Brownstone Insurance where she spent the last nineteen years as the lead underwriter on all the agency’s lines of business including apartments, condominiums, and other OLT type risks. In her new role at XS, Ms. O’Donnell will help support various production underwriters at the company with an emphasis on helping them place new business as well as cultivate existing retail agency clients.

Elizabeth “Liz” Mulhearn

Ms. Mulhearn has been appointed Underwriter at XS Brokers after a decade with Harleysville Insurance. During her time with Harleysville, Ms. Mulhearn rose through the ranks eventually becoming a lead underwriter in that firm’s middle market division underwriting all P&C lines. In her new position with XS, Ms. Mulhearn will underwriter her own book of business as she continues to work with her longstanding retail agency client base on their E&S needs.

Josh Burke

Mr. Burke also joins XS Brokers as one of its newest Underwriters. He comes to the company with over 15 years’ experience, with the last 8 of those years spent at AIG. At AIG, Mr. Burke managed a large portfolio of personal lines products as well as managed staff at the company. At XS, Mr. Burke will underwrite his own book of business while working with the company’s retail agency clients.

April Skala

Ms. Skala joins XS with over twenty years of retail agency insurance experience. In her new position with the Quincy-based company, she will join the Brokerage unit on moderate to high hazard risk placements and supporting the brokerage team overall.
