Renaissance Alliance is headquarterd in Wellesley
Bruce Cochrane, founder and president of Wellesley-based Renaissance Alliance has been added to the “Hot 100” for 2015 list by Insurance Business America. Mr. Cochrane was one of only nine New England insurance executives to make the list.
According to Mike Shipley, Insurance Business America’s CEO, the “Hot 100” list was created to “…to shine the spotlight on the biggest, most influential insurance figures and influencers” and to highlight “the faces pushing the industry forward.” To be considered, an insurance professional must first be nominated by their peers and then ultimately selected by the IBA editorial board. The board selects those individuals who have shown their innovation by “making waves in the insurance industry.”
Mr. Cochrane, who founded Renaissance Alliance in 1999, was recognized for his leadership and business acumen in growing Renaissance into one of the region’s premier network of independent agencies, insurers and service providers. In explaining his selection, IBA noted that,
“…Today, the company consists of more than 90 agencies writing more than $465 million in premium. And Renaissance Alliance isn’t the only insurance innovation Cochrane has pioneered: He also built some of the first group property/liability programs in New England, as well as risk funding alternatives that include group captives, rent-a-captives and self-insured groups.”
On being notified of his selection, Mr. Cochrane said,
“I am honored and humbled to be included in such a distinguished list. It’s an insurance professional’s dream to be included in a roster with the CEO of Lloyds of London, the President of NAIC, and the CEOs of Berkshire Hathaway, Chubb, Hanover, AIG and Hub International, to cite just a few of my fellow honorees. I’m very proud to represent the independent agency sector!”
Mr. Cochrane also emphasized that he shares this honor with the hundreds of Renaissance Alliance agency principals, producers and staff, insurer representatives and service partners who continue to collaborate, innovate, and reinvent the independent agency system, all with a purpose of delivering superlative service to tens of thousands of personal and commercial insurance customers throughout New England.
