Massagent Joe Leahy Appointed Vice Chairman of Big I Team

Mr. Leahy is the co-owner and founder of Leahy and Brown Insurance & Realty, Inc.

Agency Checklists, MA Insurance News, Mass. Insurance NewsMassagent Joseph “Joe” P. Leahy has joined the upper echelons of the Big “I”’s national leadership team as its new vice chairman. Mr. Leahy was installed as the association’s vice chairman during the Big “I”’s annual Leadership Conference in Chicago.

In commenting on Mr. Leahy’s appointment, Big “I” president and CEO Robert Rusbuldt noted Mr. Leahy’s service to both the independent insurance agent community at both the state and national level.

Joe Leahy continues to be a strong advocate on behalf of the agent community and small businesses in Massachusetts and at the national level,” says Robert Rusbuldt, Big “I” president & CEO. “The Big ‘I’ is proud that he is now our vice chairman. We look forward to continuing to draw from his expertise and insight on our leadership team.”

At the national level, Mr. Leahy’s service has included various stints on a number of Big “I” committee and task forces, including the Government Affairs Committee, the Tax Task Force and the InsurPac board of Trustees. Mr.Leahy became a member of the association’s executive committee member at the Big “I” Association’s 2013 Fall Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas. At the state level, he is a former member of the executive committee of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, serving as chairman in 2005. From 2008 until 2013, he served as the Massachusetts director on the Big “I” national board.

During Joe Leahy’s tenure as a leader of both his local association and the state association his advocacy on behalf of his fellow independent insurance agents was at the highest levels of commitment,” says Francis A. A native of Northampton and the father of six children and seven grandchildren, Mr. Leahy and his wife Frances founded the Leahy and Brown Insurance + Realty, Inc. in 1989 in Springfield.
