Veruna officially launched during The Big Event and ACORD2016
As luck would have it, a new Mass.-based agency management system, Veruna, was in the booth next to Agency Checklists during last week’s Big Event. The company, which officially launched at the start of this month has already snagged an award for its innovation. Veruna states that it challenges “…independent insurance agents to walk away from the status quo and embrace change,” This claim Veruna bases on it use of the Salesforce platform in order to offer a “best-of-breed user experience based on the actual needs of insurance agents.”
“For years our group has been frustrated with hearing from our agency partners that their agency growth and operations are being held back by lackluster technology. Agency management systems are meant to help an insurance agency move forward, not keep it stalled. That’s why we started Veruna,” said Jonathan Lincoln, president and cofounder of Veruna. “We didn’t rely on anonymous coders to develop our technology. Instead, we utilized the amazing infrastructure of Salesforce and coupled that with respected professionals who have spent their careers in agency operations. That’s how we’re challenging the status quo and changing everything about the way an agency approaches technology.”
By harnessing the existing Salesforce platform, Veruna AMR, the company’s technology platform, provides independent insurance agents with an agency management system using modules that are built from the “ground-up” in order to manage all lines of business. Differentiating itself from legacy platforms that it says were built for “…only one insurance vertical ages ago,” the company offers various purpose-built modules, including ones for:
- Sales and marketing management;
- Client management;
- Accounting;
- Document & Forms;
- ACORD eForms
- Third-party software integrations
- Custom report-building and analytics
In addition, the company notes that by leveraging Salesforce, Veruna can also offer independent agents more than 3,000 business apps via the Salesforce App Exchange.
“We are excited to implement Veruna into our agency operations. For years we have struggled with creating an office where our staff could truly be efficient due to the outdated technology available to insurance agents,” says Tom Hernandez, president & CEO of JKB Insurance Services Inc. “Veruna gives us the ability to finally enter the modern world to grow profitably and reach our full potential.”
A locally-based agency management system…
The company, based in Westborough, was founded in 2015 by three insurance-based companies: etfile, NexGen Consultants, and Eisenhart Consulting Group. Etfile is the developer of custom software solutions for independent agents as well as the creator of the cloud-based document management system, OfficeScope. Nex Gen Consultants has spent over a decade building products for both insurance carriers and agencies on the Salesforce platform in order to help companies increase profitability and efficiency. Mary Eisenhart and her consulting group consult with both insurance agencies and carriers helping both to grow through managerial and operational consulting.
The founding team includes Mary Eisenhart, Matt Mountain, Randy Davis, and Mark Linton. Jonathan Lincoln, the former VP of business development for etfile, is also a part of the founding team and currently the President of Veruna.
Awarded the ACORD Global Innovation Challenge Award this year
In addition to officially launching this past week, Veruna also made a splash at this year’s ACORD2016 by winning the event’s annual Global Innovation Challenge. The annual competition focuses on those companies providing significant and sustainable innovation for the insurance industry.
In addition to winning this year’s challenge, the company was also a recipient of a 2016 ACORD Leadership Award recognizing those in the insurance industry going “above and beyond in guiding the insurance industry toward greater clarity in the sharing of insurance data.”
In commenting on the company’s achievements this week, President Jonathan Lincoln said, “We are beyond excited to win the ACORD Global Innovation Challenge. Winning this award validates all the hard work our team has put into Veruna over the past 18 months. We have known for a long time that what we are working towards has the potential to innovate a section of the insurance industry that has been stale for a long time. Having ACORD chosen industry experts agreeing is a big deal.”
