CAR Appeals Update
For those who have been following the CAR Hearings involving the Point Insurance Agency and Tru Insurance, a quick update on the status of both these appeals. The hearing scheduled for October 19, on the Point Insurance appeal has been continued by agreement with Arbella in order to allow Point Insurance’s new counsel the opportunity to prepare after taking over the appeal. Our readers may remember that Point Insurance’s prior lawyer withdrew from the case over a conflict of interest at the the prior scheduled hearing of CAR” Market Review Committee.
As for the hearing involving Tru Insurance’s cancellation, Commerce has withdrawn its original cancellation without prejudice in order to issue a new cancellation.
It is expected that new hearings on both matters will be scheduled after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Liberty Mutual Vertically Integrates with Tesla
According to Bloomberg, Liberty Mutual and Tesla have launched a new partnership which will allow the car company to offer a comprehensive insurance package developed in cooperation with Boston-based Liberty Mutual.
