In Memoriam: James Herman Haagsma 1954 – 2019

James Herman Haagsma of Whitinsville, MA passed away on March 12, 2019 at the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He was 64.

Born on July 21, 1954 in Whitinsville, he was the son of the late Herman and Ferne E. (Robinson) Haagsma.  After graduating from Northbridge High School, Mr. Haagsma went on to attend the Lowell Technical School.

A long-time member of the Massachusetts insurance industry, Mr. Haagsma owned and operated Haagsma Insurance. The agency, which is based in Whitinsville, was founded in 1989.

Mr. Haagsma is survived by his daughter, Brandis J. Haagsma of Whitinsville; two sisters, Joy L. Haagsma of Hyannis and Janet L. and her husband Rev. Robert Arbogast of Lowell, MI; an aunt, Ann Baker-Riker of Longmeadow and nieces Katie Arbogast, Kristi Arbogast, and Martha Bergmann.
