The agency has been based in Braintree since 1959
A fire broke out the Frye Insurance Agency last Tuesday, September 22nd. Located in Braintree, the Frye Insurance & Real Estate has been an independent insurance agency serving the South Shore for over 60 years and is a member of the Renaissance Alliance.
According to various reports, the fire broke out in the early hours on Tuesday morning and was so intense that it took firefighters hours to put it out. The Patriot Ledger reported that firefighters arrived at approximately 2:15 am and were forced to leave the building by 2:45 due to the dangerous situation.
NBC Boston reported that nearby fire departments from Weymouth, Holbrook, and Quincy all joined in the effort to put out the three-alarm fire which was finally accomplished by 3:30 am.
The Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Office has begun an investigation into the cause of the fire. While fortunately no one was hurt in the blaze, a representative of the Braintree fire department said, however, that the building is “a total loss.”
The WCVB report did note though that despite the extensive damage to the building almost all of the agency records, both paper and computer files, could be saved.
