Tyler Brannen, a 15-year veteran of the New Hampshire Insurance Department, has been promoted to the position of Life & Health Director, Insurance Commissioner Chris Nicolopoulos announced this week.
“I’m excited for Tyler, and I’m even more excited for what will be his additional contributions to the Department,” said Nicolopoulos, who recently completed his first year as Commissioner. “Tyler’s institutional memory and knowledge has been critical to me personally, and it is fundamental to the continued value the Department brings to the people of New Hampshire.”
Most recently, Brannen served as the NHID’s Director of Health Economics, by which he provided leadership with health policy and related legislative efforts for the Department. The new role is effective March 26.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Tyler in various capacities over the past few years, and he has always been exceptional,” Deputy Insurance Commissioner D.J. Bettencourt said. “He is incredibly smart, hardworking and thoughtful. He is most deserving of this promotion and he will excel in this new role.”
In addition to continuing with his current responsibilities, Brannen will oversee Life and Health actuarial services and analytics, administration of forms compliance, and market conduct investigations and examinations.
“The New Hampshire Insurance Department is a fantastic organization and plays a key role in helping New Hampshire residents,” Brannen said. “I look forward to assisting Commissioner Nicolopoulos and embracing the opportunities associated with this change.
“It’s a great step forward to be working more directly with other members of the Department in support of our mission to protect consumers.”
