IABA President and CEO brings 35 years of independent insurance agent/broker expertise to the Board

Keystone Agency Partners, a fast-growing independent insurance agency partnership platform, today announced the appointment of insurance industry veteran Robert A. Rusbuldt as the Company’s first independent board member. Mr. Rusbuldt currently serves as President and CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, Inc. (IIABA or the Big “I”).

With 35 years of insurance industry experience, he brings extensive expertise and knowledge of independent agents & brokers and the insurance industry to Keystone Agency Partner’s Board of Directors.

“Bob’s addition to the board is a significant milestone for Keystone Agency Partners. He is a trailblazer in the independent insurance agency industry and we are excited to have join our Board,” said Matt Popoli, Chairman of Keystone Agency Partners’ Board of Directors and Managing Director, Global Head of Insurance, Bain Capital. “We look forward to benefiting from his experience, perspective and insight as we continue to position and operate Keystone Agency Partners as the most ideal partner for growing independent agencies.”

The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (the Big “I”), founded in 1896, is the nation’s oldest and largest national association of independent insurance agents and brokers, representing more than 25,000 agency locations united under the Trusted Choice® brand.

The addition of Mr. Rusbuldt to the Board of Directors affirms the company’s commitment to and preservation of the nation’s independent agency network. Since launching in April 2020, Keystone Agency Partners has acquired 9 independent insurance agencies. Keystone Agency Partners approaches its partnerships through the lens of “connected autonomy.” This concept is indicative of how partner agencies can maintain a portion of retained ownership and drive their own brand and business objectives, but with the added strategic support, capital investment and consultative resources provided by Keystone Agency Partners.
