Mr. Murphy was the CEO of the Murphy Insurance Agency
Dennis Francis Murphy, Jr., a well-known member of the Massachusetts insurance industry has passed away. He was 84. The MAIA and the Tighe Hamilton Funeral home first announced the news stating that he had passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
A former MAIA Board Member, Mr. Murphy had been the owner and operator of the Murphy Insurance Agency. Founded in 1937 in Hudson, Massachusetts, the Murphy Insurance Agency was started by Mr. Murphy’s father D. Francis “Frank” Murphy. In 1960, Mr. Murphy joined his father in the family business, helping to grow the business into a regional agency with seven locations in Bolton, Groton, Harvard, Hudson, Marlborough, Medway and Mendon.
