Cotuit – David R. Morse, Sr. of Cotuit, formerly of Easton, died on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at home with his family. He was the loving husband of Geraldine “Gigi” (Moynihan) Morse for 55 years. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Morse. Following his graduation from Whitman High School in 1960, he served in the U.S. Army.
David was the founder of Morse Insurance Agency, headquartered in Easton with offices in Bridgewater and Marion. He was active in local civic and business affairs and a founding member of FORE (For Our Residents of Easton).
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Pocasset Golf Club in Pocasset as well as Rotonda Golf Club in Rotonda, FL. He was especially proud of recording a hole in one in 2018.
In addition to his wife Geraldine, he is survived by four sons: Daniel T. (Amy) of Easton, David R., Jr. (Gislaine) of Hyannis, Timothy (Kara) of Easton and Brian (Jennifer) of Raynham and six grandchildren: Jack, Griffin, Chad, Ella, Brea and Cooper. He is also survived by a brother Barry (Dixie) of Cotuit and two sisters Janet Homan of Stratham, NH and Linda Post of Portland, OR.
